For these earrings, I used only the finest materials: premium Japanese Miyuki gold-plated beads with Duracoat finish (known for their exceptional colour durability), Japanese Miyuki beads in a soft light-blue shade, exclusive Czech Preciosa crystals in Aquamarine AB, and a rare Larimar gemstone at the centre.

★ Larimar – often referred to as the “Dolphin Stone” – is one of the rarest gemstones in the world.

Larimar was discovered and described only in 1975, which means there are no ancient legends associated with it. Interestingly, the Dominican Republic Dominican Republic remains the only known source of Larimar, and exporting the gemstone in its raw, unprocessed form is prohibited.

The name Larimar combines the name of the discoverer’s daughter, Larissa (“Lari”), and the Spanish word mar, meaning sea.

Larimar is associated with the sea and its power. It is believed to symbolize inner peace, harmony, patience, creativity, openness, determination, positive thinking, and the ability to view challenges from a broader perspective.

According to crystal-healing traditions, Larimar is said to encourage mental clarity, help release emotional and energetic blockages, and support personal transformation.

Larimar is a volcanic gemstone formed through geological processes that took place millions of years ago.

A local legend says that a woman who had experienced nothing but difficulties in life bought a Larimar ring and shortly afterwards won a substantial amount of money, leading some people to call it a “stone of good fortune.”
