Luxury gold-plated brass cuff bracelet featuring a hand-stitched beaded band.
Holder of the Regional Product of the Košice Region® trademark. This luxurious bracelet is also a unique regional product ♥️
The beaded band is handcrafted using Miyuki seed beads in white and various shades of red. Each bead is individually hand-stitched to the next. The wide bracelet base is made of brass and finished with a gold plating.
The folk motif is inspired by the world-famous Matyó embroidery. This nearly 200-year-old embroidery tradition is inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Originally, simple linen embroideries were created using matte red and blue cotton threads. These were later replaced by brightly colored silks and vivid wool yarns. Each color had its own meaning: black symbolized the earth from which life and crops emerge, red represented joy, yellow symbolized summer and the sun, and blue expressed sorrow that would eventually pass. After the First World War, green became the color of mourning, and green ribbons were used in remembrance of those lost in the war.
One of the most recognizable and widely used motifs is the peony, often referred to as the Matyó rose.
